Sandhills Regional Medical Center honored its employees who are veterans of the U.S. armed forces during a brief program Thursday.
“Our hospital employs several veterans and we are grateful for their service to country and even more thankful that they have chosen to continue their service as civilians at Sandhills Regional Medical Center,” said Michael J. Davis, SHRMC Chief Executive Officer.
Kitt Goodwin, Infection Control nurse, sang the national anthem, followed by the “Pledge of Allegiance,” led by Davis.
During a moment of silence, Davis asked the audience to remember the victims and their loved ones of the Fort Hood, Texas, shooting last week. He made special note of Alonzo Lunsford, the son of Rockingham City Clerk Johnsye Lunsford, who is recovering after being shot four times during the rampage.
